DUSTY DIN: Northwood resident says ‘non-stop’ building work is causing major stress

Published on: 28th September 2024   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

A resident living on Kewferry Road, Northwood, has said she is “unable to think” due to loud building works near her home.

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, informed Northwood & Ruislip News that the construction, which is adjacent to her garden, has been going on from at least 8.30am to 6pm, six days a week, ever since March.

She alleges that for the last six months, a high volume of noise has been coming from the site and dust from the works is coming onto her property.

She said: “I’m unable to open doors or go into my garden, and I can’t think. My daughter has also gotten highly strung over the matter; it’s stressing her out.

“I’ve had headaches every day, and it’s non-stop. The builders aren’t using guards on the machinery, and their debris is going into my garden. They’ve had no respect for the area, and I wasn’t even consulted on the development in the first place.

“Despite many attempts to resolve the problem, we are still yet to be heard, literally!”

According to the rules on Hillingdon Council’s website, noise from building work is only permitted between 8am and 6pm on weekdays, and from 8am to 1pm on Saturday. However, the noise should only extend to the boundary of the site.

Hillingdon Council has been contacted for comment.
