CLEAN SWEEP: St Margaret’s School in Bushey sees rise in top grades

Pupils at St Margaret’s School in Bushey celebrated their tremendous academic achievements as the school saw a rise in its students achieving top grades at A-Level and AS.

Victorious in securing yet another year of fantastic of results, 86 per cent of all results were A* to C grades, with 70 per cent of those being grade A* to B.

The number of pupils at St Margaret’s School achieving a grade A* or A also increased by 10 per cent on last year’s results with more than a third (36 per cent) of pupils achieving a clean sweep of top end grades. 

Academic director at St Margaret’s School, Simon Winchester, commented: “The results highlight the incredible academic outcomes achieved by our pupils. The commitment every pupil in Year 13 has shown to their studies has been recognised in was is an exceptional set of results; we are extremely proud of them all.” 

With over 50 per cent of all pupils achieving at last one A* or A grade, the school has also seen a surge of high achievers in mathematics this year, with 90 per cent of pupils achieving an A* to B in this subject.

Pupils studying fine art & photography and also art photography and classical civilisation were also flying high with 100 per cent achieving A* to B grades in the subject.

Director of Sixth Form, Charlotte Harrison, added: “Year 13 can now look forward to an exciting range of university courses. We are delighted that the majority of our students are going on to study a range of competitive courses at Russell Group universities.”
