CINNAMON LODGE: New Abbots High Street restaurant a huge hit with residents from day one

A classy new Indian restaurant on Abbots Langley High Street opened to a fabulous reception last month, with even the MP for Watford turning up to show his support.

Cinnamon Lodge, which is based at 39–41 High Street, held its grand opening on Sunday, July 4, from 12pm, which saw around 70 customers turn up between lunch and dinner.

Dean Russell, MP for Watford, was among the happy customers who dined on the day.

Mahbub Hasan (pictured on the right, alongside business partner, Mukhlesur Rahman), the restaurant’s owner, told ABBOTSnews: “It was a brilliant day. Everyone was very excited and it all went very smoothly.

“We had a very constructive conversation with the MP regarding our business and what the government can offer small businesses generally.”

Mr Hasan added that overall, he has been happy with business since the opening day.

He explained: “The first week, it was a bit quiet as a lot of people still didn’t know us or that we had opened. But since then, it’s got busier and busier.

“Not only are people coming, but they are liking us so much. All the reviews on Google and TripAdvisor are maximum ratings.

“My expectations are even higher than this. I’m experienced in this field and I know we’ll carry on working day and night to reach incredible levels.”

The eatery, which is fully operational, offers a modern twist on the flavours and textures of Indian cuisine.

Residents who can’t get to the restaurant can still enjoy 10 per cent off takeaway and deliveries ordered online which come to over £30.
