A Bedmond fruit and vegetable business is giving away free food to parents who need help feeding their children this Christmas.
Andrew Aston’s Fruit & Veg, alongside Warren’s Fruit & Veg, are giving away free goods to those who need it in Bedmond, Batchworth, Rickmansworth and London Colney in the lead-up to Christmas.
The businesses are using leftover funds from their October half-term giveaway and asked for nothing in return.
Here are the details: Tuesday, December 15, 9am-4pm – Aston’s Fruit & Veg Farm Shop, Millhouse Lane, Bedmond, Abbots Langley, WD5 0SF.
Wednesday, December 16, 8am-4pm – Ye Olde Greene Manne, Batchworth, WD5 1QB.
Thursday, December 17, 8am-4pm – Halfway House, Uxbridge Road, Rickmansworth, Herts, WD3 7DQ and White Horse, High Street, London Colney, AL2 1JY at the same time.
Andrew Aston said: “People turned up from everywhere last time and we’re hoping for the same again. So many people need help right now because of the pandemic – people you might not usually consider.
“For example, there are people with nice houses and mortgages who have maybe been laid off and don’t have any extra money right now.
“We want to help whoever we can. No one should be going hungry at Christmas, should they? We’re giving away all the staple fruit and veg, which can last for weeks without going off.”
Andrew Aston and Warren’s previous giveaway ended up making national news after they were endorsed by Manchester United footballer, Marcus Rashford MBE.
