Berko Beer Fest is returning for the eighth year running later this month.
The festival is set to take place at Berkhamsted Cricket Club on Castle Hill from 6pm to 11pm on Friday, September 15, and from 12pm to 11pm on Saturday, September 16.
It will feature 25 cask ales and 26 craft beers from breweries across the Chilterns, as well as ciders from around the country, live music, comedy and street food.
Punters can expect to hear music from local bands including Lost Without Cause, Blonde Rebel and Caution Horses. There will be performances from comedians including Lloyd Griffith, who has previously supported Rob Beckett and Jack Whitehall on tour, and from improv comedy troupe The Noise Next Door.
The festival, which is run by married couple Nigel Oseland and Maggie Procopi, began when Nigel was director of Haresfoot Brewery, where the first couple of festivals took place. When Haresfoot relocated to Chesham, Nigel and Maggie felt strongly that the festival needed to stay in Berkhamsted as it was a “Berko event” and important for the community.
Tickets for the Friday Comedy Night are £16.50 but are limited to 250 guests, so booking in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment. Entry on Saturday costs £8 to cover the bands and beer glasses. The festival is not-for-profit and any profits will go to charity or funding future events in Berkhamsted.
