CHARITY FUNDRAISER: Group of Kings Langley friends to take on cycling challenge for charity

A group of Kings Langley friends are gearing up for a cycling challenge to raise money for charity.

Friends – Tony Adair, Dave Ballard, Lee Bishop, Russell Knights, Dave Dunham, Nick Blanks, Eddie Edwards, Dan Radmore, and Bob Best – aim to cycle 120 miles around the Isle of Wight to raise funds for Prostate Cancer.

The group, who have named themselves One Pedal Beyond will take on the challenge between September 8 – 11.

The cyclers raised more than £5000 for Mind last year and are hoping to raise £10,000 this year.

Prostate Cancer UK’s top priority is funding research to stop prostate cancer killing men. The charity is investing millions to find better treatments and better tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early and could be used in a screening programme to save thousands of lives.

The friends have already started training for the challenge by cycling up and down the canal a few times a week.

Bob Best said: “When you get to our age, we all know people who have Prostate Cancer, this is why we are doing it this year.”
