A Kings Langley gymnast has picked up three medals whilst representing Team GB at the European Youth Olympics recently.
Ondine Achampong was crowned the European Youth Olympic beam champion after her flawless routine which scored an amazing 13.666.
She also found herself on the podium two more times, after achieving a silver and bronze in separate categories.
The impressive youngster finished second in the all-around competition and picked up a bronze medal in a team category at the games which were held in Baku, Azerbaijan at the end of July, start of August.
Speaking to Team GB’s website, Ondine said it felt amazing to do so well considering how nervous she was before performing.
She said: “It feels amazing to win gold. I knew that I had a chance of doing well after qualifying in first so I was quite nervous.”
The Kings Langley School pupil was later named as Team GB’s closing ceremony flagbearer after a vote by her fellow athletes.
Ondine helped her fellow Team GB athletes land Great Britain a second spot in the medal table for the games.
Team GB athletes came away from Baku with 25 medals, 11 gold, 12 silver and two bronze.
