A woman who spent her life caring for others celebrated her 100th birthday this month.
Shelia Tabb who currently lives at Arden House Nursing Home in Abbots Langley used to work as a carer in Ealing, London enjoyed her centenary on August 9 with her family, Reverend, friends and staff.
Born in Kilgarven, Ireland, 1919, Shelia was born into a family with 10 siblings and later moved to England in 1938 where she took on a variety of jobs in the capital. She later had four daughters.
She then moved to the village in 1999 and continued to care for the elderly in Ealing. In her 90s, Sheila had a severe fall and was forced to move to the care home.
Theresa Tayag, home manager, said: “Sheila still has all the faculty, bubbly lady and full of spirit. Stubborn at times but it’s OK.”
