A Bushey resident is hosting a month-long solo art exhibition this September.
Lorraine Benton has been a member of the local artist and creative network Herts Visual Arts for more than 20 years. She originally joined the group as a sculptor before turning her attention exclusively to painting.
From September 5 to 30, Lorraine will be hosting her very own exhibition at the Open Studios venue Reveley Lodge in Bushey Heath.
A former pharmacist, Lorraine has titled her display Cellular Interactions, with her work bringing the worlds of science and art together.
She said: “This collection illustrates a very messy, yet fun, experimental period using new materials.
“I was fascinated by the process as the resulting artforms reflected my interest in the sciences and art, reminiscent of my days in the laboratory looking at plant cells and other microscopic phenomenon. Some pieces were reworked once dry to resemble aspects of my abstract landscapes.”
The exhibition can be viewed every day except Sundays and Mondays from 10am to 4pm at Stables Gallery, Reveley Lodge Trust, 88 Elstree Road, Bushey Heath.
