Police have released CCTV images of a man who might be able to help their enquiries following two incidents in Hemel Hempstead.
Between 10.30pm and 11pm on Monday, April 11, an offender gained access to a grey Kia Sportage in Ridge Lea and stole money from the vehicle. They also attempted to open the car door of a red Tesla Model 3 Series, also in Ridge Lea, at around the same time.
PCSO Daniel McManus, from the Dacorum Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We believe the person pictured was in the area at the time of the offences and he could have information that will help our investigation. If you recognise him, or have information yourself, please get in touch by calling the non-emergency number 101 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org quoting crime references 41/29435/22 and 41/29081/22.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind residents of the steps they can take to protect their vehicles from being targeted by thieves.
“Firstly, remember to always lock your vehicle, even if you’re only going to be away from it for just a moment. Never leave valuables in your vehicle and this includes any traces of valuables too. Sat nav mounts, suction cup marks on windows or cables on view gives it away that you may have a Sat Nav, smartphone or other devices in your car. Even if they can’t see it they might still break in to see if it’s stored in the car, out of sight. More tips can be found on our website at herts.police.uk/crimeprevention.”
