The Hornets are through to the third round of the Carabao Cup after putting three past League One side Coventry.
After a poor start to their 2019/20 season, the Premier League side gave their home fans something to cheer about with a dominant performance from start to finish.
Watford fans would have been delighted to see summer signings Danny Welbeck and Ismaila Sarr on the starting line up as both made their full home debuts.
The Hornets started the game off fast with Pereyra, Welbeck and Success giving the opposition no rest bite.
Watford’s first goal of the night came from great play from Success who played a pinpoint ball through to Sarr who slotted home for his first goal for Watford and his first at Vicarage Road.
Sarr’s debut goal was the difference at the break.
Watford pushed on at the start of the second half as Coventry seemed to offer little infront of goal.
The home sides dominant start eventually paid off as Success grabbed his second assist of the game when he found Daryl Janmaat in the box, who cut onto his right foot and arrowed his strike into the opposite corner 2-0.
Gracia made his first substitution of the match which saw Peñaranda replace Pereyra and the Venezuelan made a near instant impact.
Five minutes since being brought on, Peñaranda scored a screamer from outside the box on the 69th minute. After picking up the ball outside the box, he shifts it onto his right and smashes it into the top corner. 3-0.
A lot of positives for Gracia’s side who landed their first win of the 2019/20 season. Fans will be hoping the side will extend their winning streak in their next league game away at Newcastle United on Saturday, August 31.
