Two alleged car thieves were arrested in Bushey after an Automatic Number Plate Recognition Camera picked up a vehicle travelling on the A41 in Bushey last month. The camera spotted a black Seat Leon on the A41 travelling northbound and two men were arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle at 9.30pm on May 12. Andres Rodriguez-Marques, 35, and Robert Brothers, 32, both from London, appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on May 14. Rodriguez-Marques was remanded in custody. Brothers was given conditional bail not to enter Hertfordshire or Harrow, apart from attending court. The pair are charged with theft of a mobile phone from the Mercure Hotel in Tylers Way on the A41 between 8.30pm and 9pm on Monday. They are also charged with three thefts from motor vehicles in Harrow. Detective Sergeant Alex Warwick from the Hertsmere Local Crime Unit, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has had their car broken in to but not reported it to police. We have had a number of offences over the past few months and believe there may be some unreported incidents.” Anthony Brothers and Andre Rodrigues-Marquez are both appearing at St Albans Magistrates Court on May 19 and then again at Stevenage for their trial on June 5. They have both pleaded not guilty. To report a theft from your vehicle, please call DS Warwick on 101.
