Bushey candidates announced for upcoming local elections

All candidates for Bushey were released earlier last month for the upcoming local elections. 

In total, 34 have put themselves forward for seats in their respected wards; Bushey Heath (six), Bushey North (10), Bushey Park (nine) and Bushey St James (nine).

Voters will go to the polls on May 2 where all 39 seats in Hertsmere are up for the taking, 11 of these are in Bushey.

The following candidates are up for contesting the seats in their respective wards:

In Bushey Heath, six candidates are up for election. Only two will be elected.

They are: David Bearfield – Labour, Andrew Brass – Lib Dem, Abdul Jabarkhail – Labour, Roger Kutchinsky – Lib Dem, Paul Morris – Conservative, Seamus Quilty – Conservative. 

In Bushey North 10 candidates are up for election. Only three will be elected to the council.

They are: John Barratt – Labour, Lawrence Davis – Conservative, Jerry Evans – Lib Dem, Vikki Johnson – UKI, Andrew Melville – Lib Dem, Sandy Mercado – Labour, Kashif Merchant – Conservative, Fikile Mkoyana – Labour, Paul Richards – Lib Dem, Jane West – Conservative. 

Nine councillors are up for election in Bushey Park. Only three seats are available in this ward.

They are: David Carter – Conservative, Anne Diamond – Lib Dem, Di Hoeksma – Labour, Matthew McHale – Labour, Judith Melinek – Lib Dem, Nik Oakley – Labour, Linda Silver – Conservative, Brian Silverman – Lib Dem, Anne Swerling – Conservative.

In Bushey St James’ ward, there are nine candidates up for election, battling for the three council seats up for grabs. 

They are: Yue Ting Cheng – Labour, Pervez Choudhury – Conservative, Holly Gunning – Lib Dem, David McGregor – Labour, Harry Mortimer – Conservative, Mary Reid – Labour, Peter Rutledge – Conservative, Christopher Scobie – Lib Dem, Hannah Gunning – Lib Dem.
