A resident of a village on the outskirts of Radlett is encouraging residents to “use it or lose it” after a bus nearly dropped the location from its new timetable.
In last month’s Radlett News, it was reported that as of Sunday, September 1, the Uno bus service between Hatfield railway station and Watford High Street would no longer stop in Battlers Green, following revisions to improve punctuality.
The magazine was inundated with letters from residents upset about this proposal, but they have been granted a welcome reprieve after plans were changed to keep the stop after all.
This development however, has galvanised one local resident, Robin White, a regular user of the bus from Battlers Green, to encourage others to make sure they support the service or risk losing it altogether.
Speaking to Radlett News, Robin said: “If the reprieve of the 602 route seems real, at least for the time being, what is needed is a strong local ‘use it or lose it’ campaign.
“Surely it’s better, with climate change a reality, for car drivers to have a public transport option?”
