The Berkhamsted Raiders Summer Tournament, which took place over the weekend of June 10 and 11, has been described as a “brilliant festival of football”.
More than 240 girls’ and boys’ teams featuring 2,500 players, as well as 4,500 parents and coaches, attended the event at Ashlyns School.
On the Saturday, special guests were on hand to give out the medals and trophies, including Ruesha Littlejohn, a Republic of Ireland international football player who will be at the Women’s World Cup, and her sister Shebahn Aherne, a successful sports broadcaster.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Huge thanks to the army of Raiders staff, volunteers and referees who made the tournament such a success. Thanks also to our catering partners who laid on a great selection of food and drink including burritos, ice cream, sweets and prosecco.
“We hope everyone had a great time, in spite of the heat, and we look forward to welcoming you back next year!”
