Garston Bowls Club (GBC) secured a victory on Sunday, July 23, and earned a place in the All-England Round 16.
The club played Ashford Bowls Club in the Hertfordshire vs Middlesex clash, where they won in the singles, pairs, and fours, earning a 4-1 victory. This included Dylan Martin, aged 16, who qualified in the two bowls singles.
GBC will now face Reading Bowls Club on Sunday, August 6.
Steve Horwood, GBC team manager, said: “It has been a great team effort from everyone all year, and a real achievement to get to the last 16 in both of the National Club Competitions.
“I hope we can get the results next week to qualify to Leamington as a club, and we aim to go one better than our 2015 team who were runners-up in the Top Club, or even match the 2012 team who won the 2x4s.”
