Friday, July 7 saw the internationally renowned LIV Golf tournament head to the Centurion Club in Hemel Hempstead.
The LIV Golf tournament saw 12 teams and 48 players from all across the globe, competing for individual and group titles. The individual winner was Australian golfer Cameron Smith from Ripper GC who finished with a total of 40 points, while the group title went to the American club 4ACES GC.
Cameron said: “Obviously thrilled about the individual win, but it would’ve been nice to get up there with the boys. It’s a bit of mixed emotions at the moment.”
The LIV Golf London event also supports inclusion and diversity, through initiatives with England & Wales Blind Golf Association, British Black Golfers, and Majesticks GC “Little Sticks”. On July 5, LIV Golf stars Bryson DeChambeau and Charles Howell III from Crushers GC organized a clinic specifically tailored for blind and visually impaired golfers in collaboration with England & Wales Blind Golf Association.
Andy Gilford, National Secretary of England & Wales Blind Golf Association said: “Their commitment to understanding and supporting visually impaired golfers is truly inspiring.”
