A professional impersonator of Elvis Presley known for bringing the community together during the pandemic last year has launched his own fundraising mission.
Ben Marskell, or Ben Presley as you may know him, brought Ruislip residents together last year by putting on his own performances on the street.
Featured on the cover of the June 2020 edition of NorthwoodNews we caught up with Ben to see what he has been up tp.
Ben said: “There was nothing going on so it was partly to keep myself sane as well as going out and cheering up the community.
“I had a letter from a young girl saying it was the best day of lockdown, there were lots of positives that came out of it.”
Ben added that he will be talking on a half marathon on July 18 to raise money for Harrow Boxing Club in Pinner.
In fundraising for the club, Ben said it is a way to give back to the team who have helped him over the past year.
He said: “The club is open seven days a week for all ages and abilities with a session costing just £6. These sessions made me a better person, and a better parent.
“It was really great for me mentally and physically over lockdown.”
Ben is hoping to raise £500 to repair damaged equipment at the club giving them something back from all of the community.
