Police were called at 6.26pm on Monday, October 28, following reports of a missing person from Borehamwood.
Officers conducted extensive enquiries and attended Fern Field Allotments on Green Street, Shenley, alongside colleagues from the ambulance service, at around 4.42am on Tuesday, September 29.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man aged in his 40s sadly died at the scene.
The death is being treated as non-suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.
A Herts Police spokesperson said: “The man’s next of kin has been informed, and our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”
