Drivers are facing severe delays on the M25 clockwise this morning (Tuesday, October 21) following a multi-vehicle collision between Junction 16 (M40 interchange) and Junction 17 (Rickmansworth).
Lanes 3 and 4 (of 4) remain closed as recovery operations are underway, causing delays of over 70 minutes on the approach.
The incident is not only affecting traffic on the M25, but is also having a significant impact on the M40, where delays are building up due to queues from the junction with the M25.
National Highways are urging drivers to allow extra time for their journeys or seek alternative routes where possible.
Hertfordshire Police have been contacted for comment.
