Abbots Langley Bowls Club have once again had a successful season, with the men’s team finishing a very credible second in the Watford and District League.
The club, based on Langley Road at the rear of the Scout building, runs two veterans teams for players aged 62 and over on Tuesday afternoons.
This season, the club’s Red team finished mid table while the Blue team won its league, winning 15 of 16 matches played.
Next season, the Blue team will play in Division Two, which represents back-to-back promotions for the team.
Following a very successful open day earlier in the year, the club have been able to revive the ladies section, who will take their place in the District League next season.
Although this season is coming to an end, the club say they are always looking for new members to join. They will be holding another open day in May and new bowlers are welcome to attend.
