BOWLED OVER: Kings Langley Cricket Club celebrates members’ many successes

Published on: 13th November 2024   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Kings Langley Cricket Club have been celebrating the good innings of their players and teams.

Tony Tuffs, known as Tuffo, was nominated for Volunteer Groundsman of the Year in Hertfordshire for his “great knowledge” and “long and effective service” at the club.

He joined the club in 1956 and, as well as being a “player of a very high standard”, he has also helped to maintain and prep the ground.

Tuffo won the award and was presented with his prize by Dominic Chatfield, the Hertfordshire Men’s Captain.

The club also shared that they were bowled over for player Danny Knights, who has combined his love of sport and social media to gain a degree in social media marketing. He now works for the Middlesex social media team.

The club shared they are “really pleased to see a young man, who came through our junior section and who now plays for our senior teams, achieve his goal”.

Recently, Danny volunteered to be ‘Pinky’ the Middlesex Mascot, for the T20 Blast Finals Day, where all the county teams’ mascots race against each other.

However, the race ended up being a sticky wicket for Pinky as the costume’s trousers fell down, meaning Danny had to run whilst holding them up.
