We’ve all had a handful of nights out that have led to funny moments and drunken adventures, but a pub crawl across Chorleywood and Rickmansworth is encouraging locals to embark on a unique new challenge.
Called The 12 Pubs of Chorleywood and Ricky, the crawl, as the name suggests, involves a series of challenges across 12 iconic pubs in the area.
At each pub, participants are required to take on a small task. If the challenges are not completed, it is up to the group to decide on a suitable punishment.
Tasks include not using each other’s first names, drinking all drinks using a straw, and taking a photo with staff members.
At The Western, participants are required to ‘split the G’, a new challenge that sees the individual take one large sip of a pint of Guinness until the head is positioned in the centre of the ‘G’ in the word ‘Guinness’ on the glass.
The momentous challenge ends on the roughest task of all: a shot roulette at the local Wetherspoons.
Pubs included in the crawl are The Land of Liberty Peace & Plenty, The Gate, The Rose and Crown, The Stag, and more.
One resident who created his own version of the challenge explained the experience to CHORLEYWOODnews.
He said: “I did the 12 pubs of Christmas years ago; it’s actually how I ended up getting together with my fiancé!
“Me and my friends, who all went to St Clement Danes School, always meet up for Christmas Eve, so I decided to create my version of The 12 Pubs of Chorleywood and Ricky!
“We put together a spreadsheet and I became a bit militant with the times in each pub, so I got the nickname Mr Christmas.”
News of the challenge has reached social media, where a post discussing the crawl received more than 300 responses from residents asking questions, wishing the group luck, and suggesting other pubs to be included.
