A couple are bringing international flavours to Abbots Langley, inspired by their world travels.
Last month, two reporters from ABBOTSnews were invited by local couple Stu and Trina to a dining experience hosted by A Ladle of Love in Abbots Langley High Street.
Combining Stu’s love and passion for cooking with Trina’s knowledge of and excitement for travel, the pair now host events for diners looking to taste a variety of different cuisines.
A Ladle of Love’s current events include The Tagine Scene, bringing the wonders of Moroccan flavours to the village, as well as the Chilli Club inspired by hearty dishes from southern America.
The Tagine Scene, a three-course meal for just under £30, started off with a slow roasted red pepper houmous, blended and served with paprika flatbread. The houmous had hidden red gems of pomegranate, giving a lovely crunch to the dish.
The main was chicken with a mint and lemon couscous, described by our reporters as “delicious and a bite from home”.
Finally, dessert was a clever twist on the classic Eton mess with silky tahini cream, shards of meringue and caramel.
Stu said: “We want to take all those flavours from around the world and make magic with them.”
They are also available for private dining hosted at That Little Coffee Shop, Abbots Langley, for around 20 people, subject to availability.
