Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a large and unique statue went missing from outside a house in Rickmansworth. The statue, of a man lying on a bench, went missing sometime between Wednesday April 30 and Monday May 5 from outside a home on Chorleywood Road, Rickmansworth. The statue, which is made of copper and lead and thought to weigh over 200 kilogrammes or 30 stone, would have been difficult to remove. Sergeant Neil Canning from the Abbotts Langley & Chorleywood Safer Neighbourhood Team is investigating and said: “This statue was a treasured possession and the owner is very eager to recover it. It is very recognisable and the weight of it would mean that it would take several people to life it or special equipment. It is unlikely that anyone could have removed it without being seen or heard.” If you any information please contact the police by calling: 101 and quoting reference C2/14/1347. For further information please contact Dan Atkinson, Senior Press and PR Officer on 01707 354581.
