A care home in Chorleywood hasn’t been able to stop celebrating after several members of its staff have either received or been nominated for big awards.
The first, Mira Lazovic, works as the head housekeeper at Chorleywood Beaumont, and was recently declared as the national hospitality champion in the Barchester Care Awards 2022, beating hundreds of other nominees from across Barchester’s many care homes across the country.
Reacting to the win, Mira said: “I was so surprised to be nominated. I am part of a great team at Chorleywood Beaumont, the staff and residents are my second family.”
The care home’s regional director, Wayne Hughes, has also recently been shortlisted for awards, in his case, in the categories of Outstanding Contribution to social care and Putting People First at the Great British Care Awards- London.
A keen member of the team, Wayne has also raised more than £30k for charities alongside his care work. He said: “I wasn’t expecting to be shortlisted for this award, but I am so pleased, and proud. We don’t work in care for the accolades but it’s wonderful to be recognised by my team and peers.”
Joining Mira and Wayne in getting recognised is the care home’s much-loved managing director, Natasha Lazovic, who is up for best Executive Care Leader at the Social Care Leadership Awards.
Natasha said: “was so shocked when I heard I had been short-listed, I had no idea I had even been nominated! I feel very proud to be a finalist, it makes me feel rather emotional actually, it is lovely to be recognised for doing the job I love.”
