To bring smiles to the children and staff at Watford General Hospital is the simple mission of former Kings Langley resident Jon Andrews.
On Sunday, December 7, Jon and members of the Dacorum Motorcycle Club will don Santa suits and ride from The Hop Tap in Hemel Hempstead, across the Magic Roundabout, through Apsley and Kings Langley High Street, before heading down Hempstead Road to deliver gifts to the children’s unit at the hospital.
Inspired by a lack of local toy drives, Jon enlisted fellow bikers Gavin King and Adam Griseo, along with Emily Theobald from West Herts Hospitals Charity, to help spread festive cheer.
Recently, the Dacorum Motorcycle Club delivered sweets, colouring books, and toys to the children as part of a Halloween collection.
Jon said: “It is amazing to see their faces, and it brings a smile to your face to see what we have achieved and that there are good people out there who want to donate.
“Massive thanks to Gavin, Emily and Adam for this journey we are going to and all Kings Langley residents for supporting us.”
Jon has also arranged a collection point at Luton airport in hopes of encouraging more donations.
Gifts for the children and staff in hospital over the festive period can be dropped at The Hop Tap or local collection can be arranged by contacting dacorummotorcycleriders.dmr@gmail.com
