After Watford’s FA Cup away win against Queens Park Rangers, Javi Gracia has revealed that he and his team wants to win the historic trophy.
When talking about his team selection in this busy part of the season, the manager said he believes the team has to be demanding to keep up with their 2019 form, which has seen them only losing to top six teams, Chelsea and Tottenham.
He said: “In the last 10 games we have only lost two, the results are good but we have to be demanding to keep our level until the end of the season.
“Both competitions are very important for us, we want to win all the games in the Premier League and we want to win the FA Cup.”
The Watford boss believes that his players are ready to compete until the end and thinks it’s is important to take one game at a time.
He said: “I don’t like to think about whether we are going to finish seventh or 12th, I like to be focussed on the next game and to try and think about the next three points.
“The way the team is competing at the moment, we are ambitious and positive and are always looking to improve for the next game.”
Gracia has also spoken about the importance of keeping key players Deulofeu, Holebas and Janmaat, who are all running low on their contracts.
Even though Gracia said he is not sure if their contracts will be extended, he still believes that the club will do everything in their powers to keep them at Vicarage Road for the foreseeable future.
He said: “At this moment I don’t know, but I am sure the club will do all the things they have to do to speak with the players and make sure that they stay with us.”
