Chipperfield Common has received a Green Flag Award, the benchmark national standard for parks and green spaces in the UK.
The Common joins four other parks or green spaces in the borough of Dacorum to receive the award, including Hemel Hempstead’s Bunkers Park and Water Gardens, Berkhamsted’s Canal Fields and Tring Memorial Garden.
Janice Marshall, portfolio holder for environmental services, said: “We know how important our green spaces are to residents and visitors and that is why we are absolutely committed to makings sure that they are safe, welcoming and well-maintained.
“Achieving these Green Flag awards for Chipperfield Common, Canal Fields, Tring Memorial Garden, Bunkers Park and the Water Gardens mean that the hard work and commitment of everyone involved is recognised, and I would like to thank the community and volunteer groups, together with council staff, for their hard work and dedication in making this happen.”
