Watford’s number one is in the second best form of all goalkeepers Premier League.
Ben Foster is the second highest ranked ‘keeper in the Premier League Power Rankings, which analyses players’ form over the last five fixtures, putting particular focus on the most recent one.
Foster ranks 10th in the table of players, which include the likes of Sergio Aguero (first), Raheem Sterling (second) and Heung-Min Son (fourth), and is second in his position, missing out only to Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris (fifth).
The impressive ranking comes as no surprise, as the former England ‘keeper has kept three clean sheets in his last four league games and put in an impressive shift in Watford’s 1-0 win over Everton last Saturday, February 9.
Despite being in his supposed twilight years, the 35-year-old continues to impress between the posts and has quickly become a fan favourite since his switch from West Bromwich Albion in the summer.
Foster’s impressive form was the subject of a fascinating quote from Troy Deeney in a fan forum last week.
He said: “The guy eats s***, trains twice a week, turns up on a Saturday and is f****** unbelievable.”
In the overall season chart, it’s José Holebas who leads the way as Watford’s most in-form player, ranking 30 overall in the league. That’s ahead of prolific defenders like Man City’s Aymeric Laporte and Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso.
