A 15-year-old is one of three people who have been arrested in connection with violent robberies in Amersham and Chesham Bois.

At around 5.30pm on Thursday, February 22, a staff member was struck over the head with an axe during a robbery at the Londis store on Bois Lane, Chesham Bois. The offenders left the scene with cash and vapes. The victim, Harpal, was later taken to hospital.

The local community rallied to help Harpal, and more than 400 people raised £7,000 to aid him during his physical and mental recovery from the incident.

The day before the robbery at Londis, a member of staff was threatened with a knife during a robbery at Ivy Stores on Plantation Road in Amersham.

Whilst it was reported that two men had carried out both robberies, three arrests have now made in connection with the incidents, which police believe are linked.

A 31-year-old man from Croydon, a 26-year-old man from Amersham and a 15-year-old boy of no fixed abode were all arrested on suspicion of two counts of robbery.

Detective Inspector Mark Hill, of the South Buckinghamshire Priority Crime Team, said: “We are very much in the early stages of the investigation and would urge anyone who may have been in these areas and who may have seen anything suspicious at these times to please contact police.

“You can contact us by calling 101 quoting reference 43240083559.

“Alternatively, you can make a report online, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
