The Monday Club in Abbots Langley is hosting a awards night in memory of its founder.
John Fisher, who founded The Monday Club 30 years ago, sadly died last year who was instrumental in changing the lives of so many people in Abbots Langley.
The awards night will be held on Monday, June 10, which would be John’s birthday, to give back to members for achieving their targets.
Members nominated for the awards will receive vouchers to go towards the individuals favourite hobby.
Debbie Holt, chairwoman of The Monday Club, said it will be an emotional day for everyone.
She said: “Without John, The Monday Club wouldn’t have worked for 30 years. The awards are a new thing so it will be a little anxious and emotional for our members.
“A member who is involved in acting will receive an award for that. He has never given up and hasn’t let his disability get in the way. Also, another member tried to join The Monday Club on two occasions but was very nervous and was hiding under the tables. He will be awarded for now turning up every week.”
