A Northwood resident and a Watford resident recently won awards at a ceremony aiming to celebrate the achievements of women from all walks of life.
The annual SHE Awards took place at the Prince Regent Hotel in Chigwell on Wednesday, March 8, and coincided with International Women’s Day.
On the evening, 50 people received an award, including Bhavisha Phankania, a yoga instructor from Watford, who won the Health and Fitness Award.
She said: “This award was just the validation that I’m exactly on the path I should be, inspiring others to follow their passion. Never give up! The sky is the limit.”
Northwood resident and owner of Million Dollar London, Saira Ahmad, won the Business Woman Award. In 2021, she lost her business to a fire and built it back up again from scratch.
The award categories included arts, health, role model, young champion, volunteers, sustainable small business, and many more.
This year it was hosted by BBC radio presenter Noreen Khan who said she “loved the vibe and the fact we were celebrating real women and not celebrities makes it special”.
