Two Berkhamsted venues that closed amidst a chilling financial climate last winter could be reopening soon.
With energy prices soaring and the cost-of-living crisis escalating, The Lamb and the Copper House announced in January that they were being forced to close their doors to customers.
Both venues have remained closed since then, but that could be on the verge of changing.
The former Copper House, situated in the Grade II listed Town Hall building, is in the process of being taken over by Prime Steak & Grill.
On Monday, July 24, Dacorum Borough Council granted permission for a new illuminated entrance sign and logo.
The steakhouse currently has restaurants in St Albans, Chandler’s Cross and Beaconsfield.
Meanwhile, the historic pub The Lamb is still on the market for potential buyers, although owners Star Pubs & Bars confirmed to Berkhamsted News that the venue has attracted interest.
A Star Pubs & Bars spokesperson said: “We are keen to reopen The Lamb as soon as possible. We are recruiting for a new licensee to take The Lamb over and are in talks with interested parties. It’s a beautiful old pub in a fantastic location on the High Street with a reputation for quality food and drink, making it a great business opportunity.”
The listing, which includes private accommodation of a bedroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom, has an annual rent of just under £64,000.
