A Bushey councillor is delighted that a parking problem which has consistently plagued residents has been resolved.
Borough councillor Linda Silver has worked alongside fellow councillors to allow for a better flow of traffic along Melbourne Road.
Double yellow lines have now been installed on both sides of the beginning of the road and on the left-hand side.
Speaking to BUSHEYnews, cllr Silver said parking along the length of the road used to create difficulties for drivers.
She said: “I am pleased to say that Hertsmere Borough Council took on board a parking review. I and my fellow ward councillors were adamant something must be done urgently to alleviate the severe problems both for the residents in Melbourne Road and for a safe and better flow of traffic with no continuous hold-ups.
“I am quite delighted to see how clear the road is and how safe and well the cars are now using the road.
“It is an enormous improvement and just proves that important change can happen.”
