A festival highlighting new work by some of the world’s top street artists is currently taking over a stately home in Berkhamsted.
Since Sunday, August 4, the Grade I listed Ashridge House has hosted Upfest Art House.
Ashridge’s gardens, which are famously regarded as the finest surviving work of 18th century landscape gardener Humphry Repton, are currently adorned with 20 artworks made especially for this event by a collective of acclaimed street artists.
Some of the artists involved include mural maker Curtis Hylton, hyper-realistic portrait maker Liam Bononi, and WRDSMITH, who uses typewriter imagery mixed with quotes to create thought-provoking pieces.
Stephen Hayles, co-founder of Upfest Art House, said: “This project brings together two contrasting concepts – historic country gardens and contemporary street art – in a way that’s both unexpected and spectacular.
“We’re excited for everyone to enjoy this fusion of art and history.”
The exhibition is open until Sunday, September 15. To find out more and book tickets, please visit the Ashridge House website.
