Come along with friends and family to enjoy the annual celebration of all things apple in Chorleywood next month.
The 10th Apple Day will take place in the Community Orchard at Chorleywood House Estate on October 6 from 11am to 3pm.
Entry is free and there are attractions and activities for everyone. There will be a range of apple-based crafts for the children including pressing apples into juice using a traditional crusher and press, while adults can enjoy the Cider Club’s 2017 vintage.
The very popular BBQ stand with its twist on the traditional hot dog sausage made from pork blended with locally grown Blenheim Orange apples will be sure to draw the clouds.
Enjoy apple crumble with your afternoon tea, and a new take on toffee apples – chocolate apples.
Taste and buy unusual varieties of locally grown apples and apple juice, and there will also be home-made cakes, biscuits, jams, jellies and chutneys made by volunteers from local apples and plums for sale.
The Woodland Trust will be in attendance and the RSPB will again be in attendance with an information stand, focusing on their campaign to “Give Nature a Home”, as well as beekeepers selling their local honey.
