Police are appealing to a woman who went to the aid of a victim after she was assaulted in Watford to contact them. The incident occurred at around 8.20am on Tuesday, July 28 in an alleyway off Reed Walk. The victim, a woman in her 20s, was approached from behind by the offender who grabbed her round the waist before touching her inappropriately over her clothing. The offender then ran off towards Orphanage Road. He is described as male of slim build who was wearing a blue hooded top and tracksuit bottoms. The woman, who went to help the woman afterwards, is described as a woman in her 70s who was around 5ft 2ins tall. She had short grey hair and was wearing a dark fleece style top and dark trousers. Detective Constable Judith Muskett is investigating is investigating and said: “We believe this woman may be local and I would ask that she contact me directly as I believe she witnessed part of the incident and could be able to assist in my inquiries to trace the offender. “I would also appeal to anyone else who was in the area at the time and saw a man acting suspiciously or running from the scene to please call me.” Anyone with information should please contact DC Muskett via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number C4/15/1663.
