Police are appealing for witnesses and information in connection with an incident in St Albans where dogs were dangerously out of control in a public place. At around 4pm on October 13, the victim, a woman in her 40s, was walking her dog, a Staffie cross, along Beech Road when she was approached by the offender who had two Border Collies and a Pointer with her. At this point the two Collies started barking at the victim’s dog and as she tried to walk past, one of the dogs attacked her and her dog. The woman suffered a puncture mark to her wrist and scratches to her arm. The dog did not suffer any injuries. The offender then walked off with her dogs. The suspect is described as a white woman, aged between 55 and 60 years old who had blonde or reddish short bobbed hair. She was wearing a light blue coat. Anyone who saw what happened or who can assist in identifying the woman is asked to contact PC Mark Smith via the Herts Police non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number F1/15/3702. Alternatively contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
