Police are releasing CCTV images of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with a series of thefts in Watford town centre. Police would like to speak to the woman pictured in relation to the following incidents: On 22 September, between 11.30am and 1.45pm, a phone was stolen from a bag which was under a pram in Zara in the intu centre. (C1/15/4421) On 22 September, at 1.20pm, a phone was stolen from a bag which was on the back of a pram in Choice on the High Street. (C1/15/4422) On 22 September, between 12.45pm and 1pm, a phone was stolen from a jacket pocket in Zara in the intu centre. (C1/15/4423) On 2 October, between 1.15pm and 1.30pm, a phone was stolen from a handbag in Zara in the intu centre. (C1/15/4587) PC Priya Patel from the Watford Central Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We would like to speak to the woman pictured about the thefts. It may be that she witnessed the alleged crimes or can provide assistance to the investigation. “I’d also urge people to keep their personal belongings secure at all times when in the town centre. Taking simple steps such as placing phones and purses in a zipped bag, and keeping it in sight at all times, can help prevent you becoming a victim.” Officers have been conducting additional patrols in the town centre in a bid to reduce thefts and have been handing out crime prevention advice to shoppers.
