Anyone for tennis? Village club to hold open day later this month

Published on: 5th September 2018   |   By: Tim Green   |   Category: Uncategorized

For anyone that doesn’t know, Croxley Tennis Club is located just off the Green – the entrance is opposite the Artichoke – within the grounds of The Croxley Guild of Sport.

The Club has six tennis courts and two mini-courts for juniors, all of which are floodlit.

The Club caters for players of all standards – from beginners and those that just wish to play socially, to more experienced players, who have opportunities to play team tennis in several local competitions.

There is also coaching available for children and adults.

Last month, the club has made a significant investment in resurfacing three of its six hard court with artificial grass.

Artificial grass tends to play better in very cold or wet conditions and can be easier on the joints, so it’s a significant step forward for the Club.

On Sunday September 23 from 10am – 1pm, the Club is hosting an event to launch these three resurfaced courts.

The event includes a champagne breakfast, plus the chance for members and visitors to play on the new courts.

Croxley Tennis Club is proud of the facilities it offers to local tennis players and anyone who is interested in playing tennis is welcome on September 23 to see what’s on offer.

Tony Mays, club secretary, commented: “We welcome all comers from complete beginners to those who been playing for years. We look forward to seeing as many people from the village and beyond at the end of this month.”
