The Croxley Green Annual Home and Produce Show will return to Yorke Mead School on Saturday 12th September, following the success of last year’s event.
The traditional village show, which was first founded in 1919, will mark its 105th staging this year and is once again inviting residents of all ages to take part.
Exhibitors, both experienced and new, can enter any of the 156 classes included in this year’s schedule. Categories cover a broad range of interests and skills, with entries including home-made jams, vegetables, dahlias, baking, tapestries, photography and much more.
Some classes offer entrants the chance to get particularly creative. Among this year’s photography themes is “Something Blue”, while keen bakers will be competing for the Barbara Owen Cup, which will be awarded to the best Victoria Sponge entered in Class 115.
Children will also have an opportunity to participate, with a number of exhibition classes specifically aimed at younger entrants. Alongside the competitive element, the annual event provides an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate local skills, creativity and home-grown produce.
The closing date for submitting entries is 8th September, with applications accepted either by email or on paper.
Anyone interested in entering can find the updated schedule, full list of classes and further information about how to take part on the show’s website.
