Published on: 29th November 2021   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Watford Ladies FC is cementing its reputation as a serious player in the world of women’s football.

Last month, representatives from the club were invited to address medical students from across the UK at the annual Undergraduate Sport and Exercise Medicine Conference.

This year’s USEM event, the largest held so far, was hosted by Kings College in London.

Speaking on the conference theme of Recovery and Rehabilitation, WLFC Physio Aswini Jadhav spoke eloquently about developments in sport injury management, while the club’s Performance Psychologist, Keval Patel, discussed the role that mental attitude plays in the recovery process.

Maxine Jones, Club Welfare Officer and medical professional, highlighted the importance of wellbeing and how to support players through rehabilitation.

WLFC Chairman Andrew Lovelace stressed the necessity of tackling recovery from every angle – a message which went down well with the audience.

Andrew Lovelace said: “It is a huge honour to deliver an educational talk to medical students. Hopefully we have inspired them to specialise in Sport and Exercise Medicine.”
