The second season of a popular comedy series has recently been filming scenes in Abbots Langley’s High Street and village café.

Between 3pm and 8pm on Thursday, June 1, the TV cameras were inside Abbots Langley Village Café, for filming of new scenes for Big Boys, a semi-autobiographical show written by Hertfordshire-born comedian Jack Rooke.

The show stars Derry Girls actor Dylan Llewellyn as 19-year-old Jack as he ventures off to university for the first time and deals with his sexuality.

The first series earned rave reviews and was notable for many references to places in Watford, Rickmansworth (where Jack grew up) and other Hertfordshire locations.

From 3pm to 6pm, scenes were shot inside the café, whilst from 6pm to 8pm, filming took place directly on the High Street. Security and location managers could be seen on the road from 9am that day.

Technical vehicles for the production were in the car park from early morning as well, with That Little Coffee Shop acting as an area where cast and crew could sit away from filming.
