AND ACTION! Bushey actor stars in biggest film of 2025

Sitting across the sofa from Bushey resident Casper Knopf, you are instantly captivated by his talent and charisma.

Whilst many 12-year-olds may be intimidated about a prospective interview, Casper filled the room with a calm confidence not necessarily expected of one of Hollywood’s up-and-coming stars.

Like many children, Casper has an extensive list of hobbies like skateboarding and snowboarding, but it was his brother Jaxon who inspired him to get into acting.

Speaking to Busheynews, he said: “It was amazing seeing him do something he loved, and I thought, I want to be just like him.”

Casper has already starred in a range of incredible projects, from London stage shows to TV series.

Some of his work includes Rough Diamonds, a Netflix production filmed in Antwerp, Belgium, and Amazon movie How to Date Billy Walsh, in which he plays the younger version of the lead character.

He also worked on the TV adaptation of popular fantasy sci-fi game Halo, where he played Young John (Master Chief), and has appeared in Silent Witness.

In 2023, Casper took on his first theatre role in Macbeth, where he played the role of Macduff’s son Fleance and Young Siward, alongside David Tennant.

Casper’s newest project is one that needs little introduction, as he recently starred in blockbuster sensation and modern classic Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, which was released in cinemas on Thursday, February 13.

In the film, Casper plays Billy Darcy, the son of the serious and clever Mark Darcy and iconically chaotic and fun Bridget Jones.

The film explores the titular character’s navigation of the challenges of parenthood, grief and modern dating.

When Casper watched the original film during the audition process, he said he “thought it was just one of those old movies”, but it quickly became one of his favourites and he was excited to take on the role.

His relationships in the film have become very real, and he spoke about being gifted a Lego set and chessboard by his on-screen mum, American actress Renée Zellweger, on which she had engraved ‘love, Mum’.

Casper has also very much become a big brother figure to his on-screen sister Mabel Darcy, played by Mila Jankovic, with Casper adding: “We text each other most days”.

Speaking to Busheynews, Casper said: “Everyone from the cast and crew came together to make it fun and form a massive team.”

Now having walked the first red carpet of many, Casper said: “I was amazed about the reaction to the film. Everyone worked so hard on it, not just the cast but the whole crew, and it was so exciting to get to walk down the red carpet.”

While the film has become one of the top releases of 2025, residents can keep an eye out for Casper in new ITVX series The Hack, which is set to be released later this year.

Casper’s journey can also be followed on his Instagram @Casper_Knopf.
