Pinner Cricket Club (PCC) are hoping to raise enough funds for two new cricket nets to help them invest in the sports stars of the future.
On Sunday, June 30, the club hosted a fundraising day which included a cake sale, tombola, softball event and friendlies between the junior cricketers. They aimed to raise much-needed funds to invest in two new cricket nets, which will enable more young cricketers to train at the club.
Speaking to Pinnernews, Chivan Patel of the PCC social media team said: “It was so nice getting the wider community together. It was good having so many people there and seeing how many people want the club to succeed.”
Also joining PCC on the day were Harrow St Mary’s, Headstone Manor, West Harrow and Stanmore.
Chivan explained that the club are looking to help young cricketers moving up the ranks, such as 14-year-old Tanush Madadi, who made his debut for the first XI team on Saturday, June 29.
Des Hubert, who works with the junior cricket section of the club, said: “We wish [Tanush] well for this exciting step forward in his cricketing journey, I’m sure he will enjoy every moment on the field. This is just the beginning of what promises to be an amazing career.”
Thanks to fundraising from various events, nearly £17,000 has been raised for the project.
