Bushey commuters are set to benefit from more trains during peak times after concerns were raised by residents.

Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor confirmed that he met with a manager at West Midlands Railway along councillor Ian Stotesbury to combat the issues of “unreliable, infrequent and overcrowded services” from Bushey Station.

During the meeting it was decided there would be additional depatrues at 7.04 and 7.34am from the introduction of the new timetable on May 21.

Mayor Peter Taylor said: “Many residents have been in touch about unreliable, infrequent and overcrowded services in recent weeks.”

A London Northwestern Railway spokesperson said: “Running a robust, reliable service is our top priority and we always listen to the views of our passengers and communities when planning future timetable improvements with our industry partners.

“In order to provide additional capacity for our customers at Bushey we are making arrangements for two services to London Euston to call additionally at the station in the morning peak.

“Due to the complex nature of the rail network and industry planning processes, these additional stops will be added at the next national timetable change in May 2023.”
