Barnet FC’s inspirational over-70s walking football team, captained by proud Bushey boy Paul Strom, are proving that passion and teamwork don’t fade with age.
After an incredible season, Paul has led his side to safety in the FA Over-70s Division 1, celebrating a 1-0 win over Grays and an impressive 4-0 victory over Romford.
The team also secured a spot at the League Cup Finals Day after a thrilling 1-0 win against a strong Norwich side.
For Paul and his teammates, it’s not just about results – it’s about camaraderie. The squad travel to matches together, making time for breakfast and plenty of laughs along the way.
Their adventures have taken them as far as Nottingham and Worcester, where they qualified for the UK National Finals. Paul also plays for Barnet’s new over-75s team, who recently celebrated their 2-1 win over Oakley and 2-0 defeat of Eastwood.
