A school in Northwood has launched a school-wide reading challenge to help raise funds for The New Hope Trust.
St Helen’s School have come together for a read-a-thon which has seen students, parents, families, friends and staff attempt to read as many books as possible in the run up to Easter.
A post on the school’s website shared why they chose to support The New Hope Trust for the challenge.
The post read: “The New Hope Trust is an organisation which provides provision and shelter for the homeless in the local area. During this unprecedented time, people who are locked in poverty or living on the streets need this organisation more than ever before. In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children.
“It is an amazing feeling to know that our whole St Helen’s community comes together in these challenging times to make a real difference to our wider community.”
