A Thousand Blows is a new series that has taken the world by storm, but what may make it more special for Kings Langley residents is that it was filmed here!
The programme is a historical drama series created by Steven Knight and focuses on the Forty Elephants, an all-female crime syndicate who clash with the world of illegal bare-knuckle boxing in 1880s London.
The Hertfordshire Film Office supported the Disney+ production in September 2023 on location.
With a cast including Malachi Kirby, Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty, the programme has received an impressive 8.3/10 on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
The programme was mainly filmed around London, including in Hounslow and at the iconic Mortlake Brewery in Richmond.
This isn’t the first time directors have eyed up the village as a filming location, as just a few months ago, the BBC were seen filming across the village.
Actors Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty recently worked together once again on the hit new Netflix show Adolescence.
